Old Mutual Insure celebrates 52 young graduates transforming the insurance industry

Young graduates were empowered through its trailblazing Broker Academy, creating jobs and driving real transformation in South Africa’s insurance sector.

Old Mutual Insure (OMI) proudly celebrated the graduation of 52 young professionals from its Graduate Broker Development Programme in Parktown on October 8. The initiative has already placed 42 graduates into permanent positions within the business, marking an impressive 84% job placement rate.

The programme, which ran over 12 months, aims to transform the insurance sector by training and empowering young people, with a strong focus on women and inclusivity. Seventy percent of the graduates are female, a milestone that reflects OMI’s commitment to reshaping the industry and promoting diversity.

Backed by INSETA and the Old Mutual Development Trust, the programme has given many of its graduates a life-changing opportunity to build meaningful careers. OMI managing director, Charles Nortjie, said the academy is not just about skills development, but about genuine transformation and job creation.
