City technicians are currently on site at the Cydna substation investigating the cause of a power outage affecting customers in Illovo, Melrose, Inanda, Atholl and surrounding areas.

According to an update issued at 10:00, the outage falls under the Alexandra SDC supply area. Officials have confirmed that developments will be communicated as work progresses.

Customers have been thanked for their patience and understanding while efforts continue to restore full power as soon as possible. An apology has been issued for the inconvenience caused.
