100% Bachelor Degree pass rate for Roedean School (SA) Class of 2025
From hundreds of distinctions to futures filled with purpose, Roedean School (SA) Class of 2025 has proven that when young women are nurtured holistically, excellence naturally follows.
Roedean School (SA) celebrated an exceptional set of IEB matric results on January 12, as the Class of 2025 achieved academic outcomes that placed the school well above national benchmarks.
The class recorded a 100% Bachelor’s Degree pass rate, with 73 learners achieving a combined 307 distinctions, averaging 4.21 distinctions per candidate. 46.6% earned five or more distinctions, while 50.7% achieved an A average, contributing to an overall school average of 77.9%.

Head of the senior school Phuti Mogale praised both learners and staff for their commitment throughout the year. She said the results were the outcome of teachers’ hard work and passion, as well as the determination shown by learners who continued to prepare and persevere despite challenges.
“These results reflect the strength and resilience of our learners. They chose to keep going, even when it was difficult, and in doing so gained confidence and achieved outstanding outcomes.”

Mogale also acknowledged the role played by parents, congratulating them for their ongoing support and encouragement. She noted that parental guidance and perseverance were instrumental in helping learners overcome obstacles during their final year.

Top achievers echoed this sentiment. Ita Collins credited the support of the entire school community, including teachers and peers, while Sanaa Hajee highlighted the encouragement she received from her family. Imogen Preston described Roedean as a supportive and caring environment that enabled her academic success.
Looking ahead, members of the Class of 2025 have ambitious plans. Imogen intends to take a gap year focused on work, tutoring, and travel, Ita is considering two universities, with plans to combine environmental studies and engineering, while Sanaa plans to study medicine at Wits University.
