100% bachelor’s degree pass rate for Kingsmead College

Kingsmead College has a long-standing commitment to educating young women who think critically and engage meaningfully with the world.

Tears of joy and jubilation filled the corridors of Kingsmead College in Rosebank on January 12, after the school achieved a 100% bachelor’s degree pass rate, and a high number of distinctions across the class.

Reflecting on the results, executive head Lisa Palmer noted: “The IEB matric places high value on depth of understanding, critical thinking, and independent learning, qualities that align closely with Kingsmead’s educational philosophy. While we are proud of the academic outcomes achieved by the Class of 2025, we are equally proud of the young women they have become.”

Palmer added that for over 90 years, Kingsmead focused on educating the whole girl: Her intellect, her character, her courage, and her sense of responsibility to others. The Class of 2025 exemplified this balance of academic rigour and human values.

Looking ahead, Oprah Orimoloye, who obtained five distinctions, said she was overwhelmed. “When I received a sms about my results I was overwhelmed, but I’m so grateful to God. My plans for next year… Hopefully something in the health sciences or any engineering course.”

Morgan Kohler said she was elated about her seven distinctions and planned to further her studies overseas. “I will be sending my university application this afternoon to Trinity in Dublin, as well as my applications to the United Kingdom. My sister’s studying in Trinity in Dublin at the moment, so I’d really love to join her there.”

Morgan added that she was hoping to study pharmacy, physiotherapy, or medicine.
