Parktown Boys learners help Killarney Community Garden flourish

Young volunteers are growing more than vegetables as they bring new life to a local green space.

The Killarney Community Garden continues to flourish, thanks to the energy and commitment of learners from Parktown Boys High School.

This afternoon, a group of dedicated boys spent the afternoon improving the garden’s infrastructure, installing four additional planting beds and lending their strength to a project rooted in community upliftment. Their efforts are not only transforming the space but also nurturing a deeper connection between young people and the environment.

Beyond the physical work, the experience has been meaningful on a personal level. Nkanyezi added that one of the most rewarding aspects has been building friendships, meeting new people and connecting with others who share an interest in environmental care.

As the garden continues to grow, so does the sense of community spirit.
