Inquisitive learners and parents visited Nexus Study Centre’s career day

Nexus Study Centre helps to guide learners choose careers fit for them

To assist learners and matriculants make wiser career and life choices, Nexus Study Centre hosted a career day on April 17 at Sakhumzi Zoo Lake.

The Randburg based study centre hosted companies which included KMPG, Swiss Hotel School, Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa and Sondela Academy.

Maria Erasmus, Head at Nexus Centre explained that she was excited to host the Centre’s first career day.

“We are privileged to have representatives from a number of entities showcasing their expertise. We hope that the opportunity to connect with industry leaders will give the attendees insight into possible career avenues that they have not explored before.”

Erasmus added that Nexus is a study centre with heart, where every learner is guided to reach their potential.

Nicole Dos Santos, Saxon Hotel Villas and Spa’s executive assistant encouraged keen learners to study hospitality, “We like to see hospitality beyond culinary. We encourage people to understand that hospitality is more than being a chef, it’s about creating lasting memories wherever you are in the world which includes local and international travel highlighting the good experience that comes with the career.”

Keamohetswe Matsimela, a matriculant said he found career days helpful.

“I want to study accounting next year and I’m here because I wanted clarity about the career field so I am glad I received the help I did.”
