Outstanding quotation further delays four-month-old storm water drain repairs

The Johannesburg Water quotation, still unaccounted by JRA, is delay their work on the storm water drain on 2nd Avenue in Lyndhurst.

An outstanding quotation from Johannesburg Water continues to delay the repairs of a four-month-old broken storm water drain on 2nd Avenue in Lyndhurst.

Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) head of regional operations Mpho Maruping, on May 6, confirmed that JRA is currently following up with Johannesburg Water to finalise the outstanding quotation.

“Approval of the quotation is required before the works can be formally scheduled. Once feedback and confirmation have been received, we will proceed with scheduling the repairs and communicate the planned commencement date accordingly.”

A reporter visited the site for the second time on April 29, where she was met by collapsed JRA cones, growing weeds, and an orange net that was barely securing the excavation.

Ward 81 councillor Joanne Horwitz said JRA’s delays were unsatisfactory and that she would be escalating the matter.
