52 runs secure victory for Stallions over Dobsonville at Craighall Primary

Stallions played a strong performance to defeat Dobsonville by 52 runs in a cricket match played at Craighall Primary School.

Stallions claimed a convincing 52-run victory over Dobsonville Cricket Club in a cricket match played at Craighall Primary School on July 5.

After winning the toss, Stallions elected to bat first, posting a total of 160 runs, applying pressure on Dobsonville with a target of 161 to secure a win.

Connor Greyling, Stallions coach, complemented his team’s performance, highlighting their teamwork, energy, and contribution in all parts of the game. “I think it was a pretty good game. Very solid from the boys. All the boys participated really nicely. Everyone had a chance, bowled nicely, fielded nicely, energy was there.”

He further added that Dobsonville also played a good game, making the match more competitive and fun. Dobsonville had its fair share of batting opportunities after the switch, with the players, despite the target pressure, showing great determination and looking quite promising.

Dobsonville Cricket Club coach Lerato Seroke explained that a lack of communication among teammates is what contributed to their lose. She noted that the team did not take instructions well during the match.

Despite their chase of the target, Dobsonville were bowled out for 108 runs, as Stallions kept it going with disciplined bowling and consistent pressure in the field.
