The Corlett Drive Improvement Precinct (CDIP) on August 5 held a meeting at the Marriott Hotel in Melrose Arch to discuss key milestones, improvement of safety, cleanliness, and the overall business environment along Corlett Drive.

In attendance were neighbouring stakeholders, businesses, residents and Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) representatives.

The CDIP is a registered non-profit company run entirely by community volunteers, including local business owners, property managers, and residents who share a belief that Corlett Drive can be better.

CDIP chairman, Mark Pencharz, explained that the work conducted by the NPO included patrolling, cleaning up, maintaining the verges and clearing pavement litter.

Pencharz encouraged more people to be part of CDIP. “We invite you to join us on weekend gazebo and table recruitments. People are urged to visit the NPO’s website to sign up and be a member and stay informed.”

He added that four new members had signed up via the website this month.

• Pay via EFT or SnapScan: every amount, no matter how small, is tracked and allocated
• Follow on Facebook for updates, events and progress

Why It Matters:

• The municipality can’t fund clean-ups, security or CCTV on its own
• A registered NPC and bookkeeper ensure every payment is properly allocated
• More paying members means more of Corlett Drive gets covered, faster.
