Children can enjoy attractions including a horse carousel, Ferris wheel, rocket ride, jumping castles and face painting, while food trucks and stalls will serve up treats ranging from pancakes to pizzas.

Little ones will not be left out, with the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg hosting a dedicated baby and toddler play area featuring soft play activities and carnival games.

Costumes will take centre stage during the best-dressed competition, which costs R10 per entry and offers prizes for young participants.

Families can also bring picnic blankets and enjoy the festivities on the park’s lawns.

When the carnival winds down at 17:00, the Halloween fun will continue as children head into Parkview’s streets for the neighbourhood’s much-loved trick-or-treating tradition.

Tickets cost R50 per person, with free entry for children under two.

Bookings can be made online at parkview.org.za/store/.

The event promises an afternoon of community spirit, family fun and just the right amount of Halloween mischief.
