LETTER: Smart meter causes frustration

Christopher Breytenbach writes:

Ever since I had a smart meter installed by City Power or some government department, I have had my power constantly being switched off and on. This is not only extremely irritating, but what about the electrical appliances that I have? Surely this cannot be a good thing?

If they are testing or warning me that I am using too much power, then surely they can do it in another way than by constantly turning my electricity on and off?

I have recently been hit with a R24 000 bill for no reason other than an ‘admin issue’ that they had with my account along with the constant load shedding. Come on City Power, when is it ever an easy ride with you?
