Has Windsor East become the new Hillbrow? Why has law enforcement, immigration and city council taken a back seat on this lovely neighborhood? Why have two blocks of streets brought this neighborhood to shame. These streets have become a nightmare including Beatrice, Earls, Duchess and Princess streets.
Maybe it is an overpopulation problem that needs to be looked into. Why are people just loitering the streets? Why do we now have vendors every metre, even at Spar’s doorstep? Why do we have people just standing around doing nothing? What type of visas or work permits do these people have that allow them to just stand and chat or sit outside shops 24/7?
We also have barbers cutting hair on Republic Road and others fixing shoes? Can we not have a special place where these vendors can do their business? There is a white Ford that spends the day parked underneath a tree on Earls Avenue and people sitting in that car. What are they doing, are they dealing in drugs?
Can the powers that be send Red Ants to clean up these streets? Immigration needs to send a team in an unmarked vehicle for stop-and-search operations. Let us stop unnecessary loitering and overpopulation before Windsor East becomes another Hillbrow.
