Gallery: Festive atmosphere abounds at Joburg’s SPAR race

Thousands of runners took part in the SPAR Women's Challenge Jozi 2024 through the streets of Emmarentia.

A highlight on the entertainment calendar of many Joburg residents is the annual SPAR Women’s Challenge, which is taking place today (October 6) at Mark’s Park Sports Club in Emmarentia.

Not only for women, the race encourages runners and walkers of all athletic abilities to come out and support a good cause, while having a blast running through some of Joburg’s most beautiful, leafy-green suburbs.

This year the race is in support of Reach for RecoveryThe Smile Foundation and Headstart Kids.

Often called Joburg’s most beautiful race, it’s not hard to see why. The surrounding area is filled with the smiling faces of thousands of participants, dressed in vibrant colours, singing and dancing all along the route making this one event that is not to be missed.
