A ‘terryfic’ win
PARKVIEW - Terry Hinton is the proud winner of the 2015 Bobby Locke Memorial Trophy.
Emmarentia resident, Terry Hinton (75) shot his age at Parkview Golf Club earlier this month to claim the 2015 Bobby Locke Memorial Trophy.
Golfers consider it a major achievement to complete 18 holes in as many shots as their age or fewer. Hinton, fired an 18-hole total of 75, for a net score (after deduction of his handicap) of 66.
The late golfer, Locke, a Parkview member for many years, won The Open Championship (British Open) four times in the 40s and 50s, nine South African Opens, seven South African Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Championships and 15 PGA Tour events.
