Saxonwold resident performs well in triathlons

SAXONWOLD – Saxonwold resident has been representing the country in San Diego and is due home soon.

Saxonwold resident and triathlete Jessica Dignon has been training in San Diego, USA.

After losing a couple of weeks to illness, Dignon is back racing and on 29 July she competed in the Solana Beach sprint triathlon.

She finished second in a time of 01:00:27 in the 25 to 29 age group which is usually the most competitive age group.

Dignon has one more triathlon to compete in before coming back to Johannesburg in mid-August. She will be racing in the CVC San Diego Half Triathlon which is over the same distance as a Half Ironman (1,9km swim; 90km bike and 21km run).

Her training and racing in the US have all been in preparation for her target race which is the Half Ironman World Champs in Port Elizabeth on 1 September.

Dignon is active on social media and you can follow her on Instagram @jessicadignon and on her travel blog www.triadventure.com
