Black Poison’s Nzimande is the top marksman of the ANLFA Promotional League 2019
ALEXANDRA – Nkosingiphile 'Striker' Nzimande wins the Golden Boot Award of the ANLFA Promotional League 2019.
SAB League teams might need to watch out as Alexandra’s ace goal poacher Nkosingiphile Nzimande is heading their way, along with his Black Poison teammates.
Nzimande, who goes by the nickname ‘Striker’, was crowned the Golden Boot Award winner of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association (ANLFA) Promotional League for his tally of 31 goals in a league of 14 teams and 26 matches.
His nearest rival was Rangers’ top marksman Paul Maluleke, who managed to score one goal less.
Maluleke’s Rangers played at the Alexandra Stadium on 22 June just before Nzimande’s Poison took to the pitch. Maluleke, better known as ‘Messi’, had 27 goals before this game and went on to bang three goals to overtake Striker by a solitary goal.
But Striker’s brace against Dra FC enabled him to walk away with the Golden Boot Award. “I am happy to have been crowned the Golden Boot winner but my gratitude goes to my teammates who made it possible for me to score all those goals.
“It also goes to my coach for believing in me and nurturing my ability and talent, and lastly to the All Mighty who makes everything happen.”
Nzimande said he was going to work even harder in the SAB League but was confident in making the grade there well and possibly emerging as the leading goal scorer of that league too.
