Playhouse enhances dexterity
PARKTOWN – The playhouse is set up in such a way that it can be used for other school events.
The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg (DSJ) in Parktown recently launched a new playhouse for its primary school.
According to DSJ marketing manager Savo Ceprnich, the enforced hygiene and distancing regulations are difficult concepts for young children to grasp.
“The DSJ wanted to create an environment for their children, during their breaks, where they are encouraged to play, stimulate the building of core muscles and inspire movement,” said Ceprnich.
With this in mind, the ‘Playhouse concept’ was born.
Learners can loan toys out during breaks. “The carefully chosen toys will assist in training balance and promote physical dexterity. In the long-term, it will become an important part of break activities and in the short-medium term, it will be used to keep learners stimulated but in line with social distancing.”
Ceprnich said that the playhouse is set up in such a way that it can be used for other school events.
