Old Edwardians U12 soccer team thrashes Highlands Park
Old Edwardians U12 coach wants the team to perfect their timing of hitting the target and the skill of communicating among each other.
The U12 Old Edwardians soccer team came out victorious against Highlands Park on their home ground on May 21.
The ground was filled with parents and guardians – seated and standing while cheering for both teams.
U12 Old Edwardians coach Thanyani Mashamba felt indifferent about his team’s 2–0 over Highlands Park.
“We still have work to do in terms of bettering ourselves, as well as passing the ball to each other and communicating with one another. We also need to work on spotting opportunities to score and hit the target, because we could have scored more goals, but because we passed the ball in a certain area in the field, we missed opportunities to score goals.”
Highlands Park U12 coach Kiev Esterhuizen said he wishes his team showed more character and desire for the game.
He also gave props to the winning coach, “The winning team played good soccer. They are a well-oiled team, and know what to do within a team.”
