Day 2 of the KES Easter Festival: With passionate fans and thrilling matches in hockey and rugby, despite the grey skies overhead.

The atmosphere on Day 2 is absolutely buzzing, as fans flock to the stands in support of their schools, bringing an electric energy to the venue. Despite the grey skies and drizzle, the mood remains upbeat and vibrant. Both players and spectators are determined not to let the weather get in the way of what has already been an exciting day of sports.

The action got underway with a thrilling hockey match between Glenwood and Helpmekaar Kollege. Both teams gave their all, engaging in a fast-paced and closely contested battle. The intensity on the field was matched only by the enthusiasm in the stands, as the crowd cheered every impressive play. The game was a testament to the skill and passion of both sides.

Parktown Boys’ and Queen’s College Boys’ High School also faced off in an exciting hockey clash, with both teams playing with tremendous heart and determination. The match was evenly matched, with each side having their moments of pressure, but neither managed to break the deadlock. Fans were kept on the edge of their seats, witnessing some brilliant defensive plays and near-misses throughout.

Looking ahead, there’s plenty more action to come today. In rugby, two highly anticipated matches are on the horizon. At 14:00, Jeppe High School for Boys will take on Selborne College, followed by the highly-anticipated clash between King Edward VII School and Rondebosch Boys’ High School at 15:15. With both games featuring some of the top young rugby talent, these fixtures are sure to offer plenty of excitement.

Meanwhile, hockey fans have even more to look forward to, with a packed schedule of matches. At 12:50, Maritzburg College will face off against Selborne College, followed by a 14:10 matchup between St Charles College and Queen’s College. At 15:30, Pearson High School will take on Glenwood, with both teams looking to showcase their skill. The home crowd will be out in full force at 16:50 when King Edward VII School faces Kearsney College, and the final game of the day will feature Selborne College against Northwood School at 18:10.
