Stallions secure a win against Dobsonville

Stallions produced a great performance to beat Dobsonville by 52 runs at Craighall Primary School.

Stallions claimed a 52–run win over Dobsonville in an U9 winter league cricket match played at Craighall Primary School on July 5.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Stallions posted 160 runs, setting Dobsonville a target of 161 to win.

Dobsonville produced a spirited batting session, motivated by cheers from teammates. Unfortunately, they were unable to reach the target, finishing on 108 runs.

Stallions won the match by 52 runs.

Stallions coach Connor Greyling praised his team’s effort.

“It was a pretty good game, very solid from the boys. All the boys participated really nicely. Everyone had a chance, bowled nicely, fielded nicely, energy was there,” he said.

He also commended the opposition.

“Even Dobsonville, most of their players were pretty good. I think it was an all–round good game of cricket.”

Reflecting on the match, Greyling said both teams benefited from the experience.

“Cricket is always the winner in the end.”
