Paterson Park’s netball courts saw a full team of Norwood Fit Fusion (NFF) players on August 7, preparing for their upcoming tournament on August 15.

The team began their session with different warm-up techniques, including running, stretching, and catching the ball, while observing the rules of the game.

Made up of different age groups, starting from age 10 to adulthood, the team gives both juniors and seniors a place to train, de-stress, compete, and support one another.

Coach Amanda Mposh explained that today’s practice was important, as it was days away from the team’s big day. “We are polishing our footwork skills, as it has been a problem in our previous games. We have been playing a lot of friendly games to learn from other teams while also observing our mistakes.”

She added that she was happy with the team’s strong defence but also wanted to improve the team’s shooting techniques.

Seasoned player Minenhle Mbele said she was looking forward to winning the upcoming tournament. “We’ve improved in our games significantly compared to last year, so I am confident that we’ll have a good result, should we polish and work on our mistakes.”

The tournament is a fundraiser for the netball team and will be held at Paterson Park from 10:00 on August 15.
