Springsteen on thunder road to Joburg

JOBURG - Legendary rockers Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will visit Joburg for the first time next month.

The band is set to wow the audience at FNB Stadium on 1 February.

Springsteen’s career spans more than three decades, during which time he sold over 120 million albums worldwide, won 20 Grammy awards, two Golden Globe awards, and an Oscar.

He was inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, and Rolling Stone magazine listed Born to Run and Thunder Road among its Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

“Fans will have the chance to hear all the hits with a two-and-a-half-hour music show,” said Big Concerts CEO Attie van Wyk.

“After 24 years, it’s a dream come true to promote Springsteen in South Africa. It’s definitely a personal highlight to confirm The Boss.”

Springsteen’s Joburg support act will be Dan Patlansky who, in little over a decade has become of of the most respected blues and rock artists to emerge from South Africa.
