Hip hop artist attracts thousands of party-goers
NEWTOWN – Rainy weather didn’t deter hip hop fans from flocking to see rapper Big Sean during his big performance in Newtown on 1 February.
The hoards of fans didn’t look disappointed during the much-anticipated performance as Big Sean performed some of his most popular tracks.
During a press conference held in Marshalltown earlier on the day, the artist said he was very excited to have had the chance to travel to South Africa.
“I have never been to South Africa, never mind seen a lion in real life so I am very excited to discover the country and go on a game drive,” he said.
Big Sean headlined the first-ever AXEcess Jozi concert which also hosted a few well-known local hip hop artists including Khuli Chana, AKA, Teargas and Reason.
Speaking at the press conference, local artist Reason expressed his eagerness to open the stage for the “finally famous” star and said he was grateful to the organisers for having included him in the line-up.
Big Sean was the first of three American rappers who will perform in South Africa in February.
Kendrick Lamar and Eminem are also expected to headline their own shows this month.
