Win Michael Lowman’s debut album

The Maboneng Precinct-based musician was chosen to support the South African leg of American singer-songwriter Tori Amos‘ forthcoming world tour.

Lowman’s musical career began at the age of 17, when he learned to play the guitar and started writing songs. A few years later, he posted videos of cover versions of songs on YouTube.

These videos soon caught the eye of Los Angeles-based Authentik Artists record executive, Scott Austin.

Lowman made his way to the States and recorded his first EP, produced by Mark Needham. The EP earned him a slew of high-profile TV placements, including spots on the Kardashians’ show, Kourtney and Khloe take Miami, but a visa complication resulted in Lowman returning to South Africa, signing with Universal SA, and recording his debut album.

Crayon Boxes was released in September last year.

The first single, Your Lovin’ Ain’t Right reached the top three position on 5FM, Jacaranda FM and OFM.

The single Girl Saves Boy gave Lowman his first number one hit when it topped the Jacaranda FM Top 20.

Lowman was a nominee at the MK and Sama awards.
