Youth Orchestra to wow at St Francis concert
The St Francis Anglican church invites residents to its picnic and open-air concert taking place at the church.
The St Francis Anglican church will host an open air concert billed to fill the cold winter days with warm musical sounds.
The concert will feature the music of the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra and will take place on 1 June at 12pm at the church in Parkview. The orchestra will serenade visitors under the guidance of Eddie Clayton.
According to the church’s Ruth Coggin, the event will also be a charitable one as people will also be allowed to donate blankets for the needy.
“The talented youngsters will perform…music to get your feet tapping as you enjoy your picnic lunch in the enclosed garden of St Francis,” she explained.
Coggin added that the collected blankets would be distributed to the needy through the church’s outreach programme.
She also encouraged residents to bring along picnic baskets to enjoy at the concert, or support the church by purchasing some of the goodies on sale during the concert.
“[The concert] is a wonderful opportunity to bring young people to hear what their peers have achieved,” she said.
