Voices of Joburg: Face First
JOBURG - City Buzz frequents the City of Joburg in search of new and interesting people to interview as our Voice of Joburg, but on certain occasions our next Voice of Joburg finds us.
As we wandered down De Korte Street in Braamfontein, we passed a group of friends who seemed eager to reach their final destination – all except one.
“You can take a picture of me,” he said confidently.
City Buzz asked the gentleman if he’d want to be the next Voice of Joburg.
“Hey gents, I’m just going to do this interview,” he called to his friends.
“Tell them about FF,” one of his friends responded as he walked away.
“Where are they going?” City Buzz asked.
“We’re going to eat, we’re all quite hungry and I’m quite intoxicated right now,” he said.
We asked him what FF was, to which he responded, “Face. Well it’s Face First. When people see the face they don’t generally like it much, but they have to. I don’t know, but apparently it’s quite f$&#@*.”
With little left to say on the matter, City Buzz moved swiftly on to the next topic.
“What do you do?” we asked.
“I’m a [music] producer,” he started.
“I produce trap and hip-hop mostly and I do accounting. I just graduated with my accounting degree from Rosebank College.
“I don’t produce for any big names, it’s just music for boys I’m trying to push right now – boys who come from where I’m from. Yeah, I’m trying to build the youth.”
The music producer was in a rush to meet with his friends who had left him to find some place to eat, but before he left he made sure to tell City Buzz something that no one would have expected.
Check out how FF responded when asked what the most interesting thing to happen to him in Braamfontein was:
