JOBURG - City Buzz is always intrigued by the new art that can be found in the City.
This intricate and detailed street art can be found somewhere in the City and perhaps if you knew where it was, it’d help you find your way around. These spectacular pieces of street art can be found on the corner of De Korte and Eendracht streets in Braamfontein.
Next to the art you can find a VW dealership, should you be looking for a new car to buy, as well as the much-talked-about rooftop party venue, Randlords, on the same street. Just one street over, on Jorissen, you will find two entrances to Wits University, and the entrance to Senate House – now known as Solomon Mahlangu House – should you be looking to check out a protest.
On the same street, you will find the entrance to Wits Art Museum (WAM) where you can enjoy some great food and snacks at the café from Monday to Friday or enjoy the art in the gallery from Wednesday to Sunday.
Braamfontein is one of the social hubs of the City of Gold, so you really can find something interesting on every corner.
Still within walking distance of the art, you can find Kitchener’s on the corner of De Beer and Juta streets, and have yourself a great time with great people and great music.
Should you wish to get out of the City – and we won’t assume it’s because you’re afraid of the area – Bertha Street will take you to the M1 highway where you can make your way to the north or south of Joburg.
There is no reason to get lost in the City ever again, because if you can identify the street art in your surroundings you will know where you are.
