Bassline and Kaya FM take Thandiswa Mazwai to exciting venues

Kaya FM and Bassline Live, originally based at Newtown’s old Bassline Live venue, have happily moved and in doing so, set the bar on entertainment higher than ever before.

The series kicked off in spectacular fashion this past weekend, with a sold-out show headlined by Soweto’s finest, The Soil, with support by the smooth and talented Jobie Clarke.

The memorable show has fans excited to see what the March booking will be. The country’s fiercest songstress, Thandiswa Mazwai, will be taking to the stage to wow the audience with her outstanding stage show, impeccable singing talent and brand-new repertoire of songs.

On 4 March, The Belede Experience will see Mazwai, in her prime, supported by an all-star trio of our finest jazz talent, namely, Nduduzo Makhathini, Herbie Tsoaeli and Ayanda Sikade.

This collaboration aids the promotion of live music, giving a unique platform to local and international artists on its multimedia platforms. The Kaya FM and Bassline Live series featuring a doyenne of Afro Soul, is a unique opportunity to experience Mazwai in her element.

Released to critical and commercial acclaim in late 2016, the long-awaited new album features South African Jazz standards re-imagined by a singer at the peak of her creative powers, and who needs no introduction to music lovers. Mazwai is looking forward to playing these songs in the stripped down and intimate setting, which The Lyric Theatre duly provides, whilst maintaining a high quality, luxurious feel, making any night out a reason to bring out the glad rags and look your best.

Bassline Live has had a long-standing, special relationship with this musical icon and they are thrilled to have her back for the exciting series.
