First International Beer Day Music Festival a hit

MULDERSDRIFT – Sunny skies and a fantastic winters day greeted festival goers at the first International Beer Day Music Festival in the Magaliesburg on Saturday.

Revelers who made their way to the Cradle Moon Lakeside Lodge in Muldersdrift were treated to a great day of local and international craft beer from 22 different breweries including Leaky Tap Brewery, RIOT beer, Dragon Brewing Company and Red Rock Brewing Company, to mention a few.

Delicious offerings were provided by various food trucks parked around the festival grounds ensuring that there was plenty of variety for everyone attending, although a few people City Buzz spoke to were a little upset that vegetarians and vegans had not been adequately catered for.

Entertainment was provided by top local talent including Sama winners Goodluck, Ross Jack and Crash Car Burn, among others. “The setting for the festival was amazing and the crowds have been great. Crash Car Burn had the best time today,” said Garth Barnes, lead singer for Crash Car Burn backstage after their performance.

Not even the disappointing rugby performance by the Lions managed to dampen the spirit of the crowd who were able to watch the game live on a big screen. With plenty of beer on hand to drown their sorrows, they partied the night away to the sounds provided by the likes of Deep Culture, Brandon B Trax Seeber and Laminin music.
