Highlands North musician chases a dream
HIGHLANDS NORTH – There's a new kid in the music industry and he happens to be your neighbour.
Music fans are set for a big surprise as Peter Mmolawa, famously known as Speedoh Paris, is expected to take the industry by storm with his latest diversified music album.
The 27-year-old musician from Highlands North promises to shock the audience when he releases his 14-track album later in September.
He said the album contains afro-pop, a hint of kwaito music and obviously ‘trap’ for his party people.
The young musician said that he wants this album to be mind-blowing. “I have a good feeling about this one.
“This album is more like a surprise party to my fans.”
“I spend sleepless nights working on this new album [and I believe] it’s going to be fuego [fire in Spanish]. There are love songs in this album I’ve got a bit of kwaito and Afro-pop sound all put together in this compilation.”
Speedoh Paris said the album name will be revealed during the year. He said he is working with a lot of local artists as well as artists from outside the borders, including in Namibia, Nigeria and Congo.
Speedoh Paris started as a ‘rapper’ at age 11 and boast that he plays soul music, RnB, jazz and kwaito adding that it’s actually a little bit of everything that helps him to fit everywhere.

“I could say it’s more like 16 years because I started singing in 2003 but professionally it’s only five years in this industry.
“I’m still independent and running my own small label Major Records but I would really love to be signed under one of those big labels in Mzansi like a family tree or Ambitiouz Records.”
Speedoh Paris has been nominated the best newcomer of the year in the City Awards and members of the public who would like to vote for him can SMS 011 Speedoh Paris to 35029.
