Three suspects arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearms

HILLBROW – suspects arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearms.


Three suspects have been arrested by the Integrated Intelligent Operation Centre (IOC) Reaction Unit for being in possession of unlicensed firearms.

According to Metro police chief David Tembe, unit officers received a complaint from IOC about two men who were suspected to be in possession of firearms and were walking along Wolmarans Street.

“Upon arrival, they found those two suspects standing with a group of other males at Wolmarans and King George in Hillbrow. They searched the whole group and found one unlicensed firearm on one of the suspects who was previously identified and two more firearms on another two suspects, one of those suspects being one that was previously identified as well,” said Tembe.

All the suspects were arrested and detained.
