Hip-hop duo preaches gospel happiness, resilience and positive attitude
BRAMLEY– 'We realised that even though we had different backgrounds, there was something we had in common – the love for music.'
Through their poetic songs filled with funk and energy, the Bramley based hip-hop music group, Keisher Slop x Emzxy, is on a mission to spread the spirit of love, resilience, hope and positive attitude to young people.
Formed in 2018 by former school buddies Lihle ‘Keisher Slop’ Dhlamini and his friend Russel ‘Emzxy’ Zindoga the group will release its first extended play (EP) titled Backend with four hot tracks that bring a new recipe to the hip-hop music pot in April this year.
The duo said growing up listening to hip-hop music developed in them a love for art and prompted the need in them to use music as a tool to spread the message of love and positive spirit.

“We grew up in two different worlds, I grew up in Diepsloot and Emzxy grew up in Ennerdale. We later moved to Bramley and met in North View High School when we were doing Grade 11 in 2018. We realised that even though we had different backgrounds, we had something in common – the love for music, positive attitude and resilience. We decided to share this spirit with others through music,” Dhlamini said.
Zindoga said, “Through this EP we are hoping to change the way other people view hip-hop music. We speak about daily challenges faced by people, young and old.
“We want to inspire, bring hope, spread love and preach positive attitude. Our music sound is mind- blowing and full of good vibes and energy.”
The EP features hit tracks like Flex Mode, Lemme Goo, Dush Bag and Eat will be available on digital music outlets from 1 April.
