Step out for Unity College and you may spot the Big Five

CHARTWELL NORTH – Unity College encourages community members and pupils to join in a fun walk to raise funds for the school's sports facilities and the Endangered Wildlife Trust.

The pupils of Unity College are resting their legs before they put a spring in their step at the school’s Inaugural Big Five Fun Walk on 11 June.

The walk will be held in conjunction with the Endangered Wildlife Trust and while Unity College will be the main beneficiary, with the funds raised going towards upgrading the school’s sports facilities, a portion of the funds will also be donated to the trust.

Participants can take a 5km walk around the Chartwell North Estate, which will have five stations to stop at and there will be one of the Big Five animals at each point which will detail the challenges confronting each animal species. For the junior school pupils, there will be a 2km route around the perimeter of the school’s premises.

Community members wishing to participate are urged to gather their friends and family to join in on the fun and to gather as many pledges from friends, families and colleagues as possible.

After all the exercise of the day is done and dusted, Unity College will light up some fires for the participants to enjoy a braai on the school’s premises.
