Get your hair done and some tattoos all at the same place!

SANDTON – Best of Joburg 2019 recipients, Sally Mustang tattoos have collaborated with label.m hair to expand their brand.

As the world slowly moves back to what we once knew, more innovative and unique ideas are popping up. With a passion for fashion and lifestyle, famed actor, Gert van Schalkwyk Jr has partnered up with Sally Mustang tattoos in Sandton to bring an international brand to Sandton.

Known as the fashion label of the Toni and Guy salon group, label.m is also the official stylists of London Fashion Week.

With upskilling in mind, van Schalkwyk’s aim is to run a training centre for people interested in hair, from all walks of life.

“The opportunity to learn about the industry whether it be as an operator, receptionist, stylist, marketing and sales. The learning possibilities are endless,” he said.

Celebrating the launch of the new venture on 27 March at Hotel Sky in Sandton, it was a glamourous affair for all in attendance. Socialite Edith Venter also launched her brand new MCC for some bubbles to enjoy.

Bringing something new into the beauty space, owner of Sally Mustang lifestyle, Paul Stergiopoulos believes that the market will receive this well.

“It’s a different type of approach because we are using tattoos and hair together and it’s not being done in South Africa at the level it should be at. Now partnering with a big brand of hair products and having the same clientele coming for their tattoos would be keen to do their hair as well.”

He added that it’s your one-stop-shop for all your aesthetic needs while having fun at the same time.

“Both hair and tattoos are a long process so having a bit of fun while doing it makes you enjoy the process while you’re in an expressive and cool environment,” said Stergiopoulos.

Van Schalkwyk mentioned that collaborating with the Sally Mustang brand was the perfect fit for his aesthetic and that of the label.m.

Doing it all on a whim, Van Schalkwyk said that the idea came from his own experiences.

“I couldn’t find wine, my hair was going all over the place and I noticed that there was such a demand in the hair industry. Larry le Roux was my mentor and taught me everything I know. I studied hair online and I can now give a serious blow dry!”

Passionate about the training centre, Le Roux said that he is happy to be living his passion while helping others find theirs.
