Play your part to make a mark #SlipperDay

The Reach for a Dream Foundation media launch announces the official date of Slipper Day: May 6.

Saving the world has never been an easy task, especially for an organisation known for making children’s dreams come true.

The Reach for a Dream Foundation invited selected guests to their media launch at the San Deck restaurant located in Sandton in celebration of their annual campaign, Slipper Day.

The campaign focuses on restoring hope within the lives of children who are faced with life-threatening illnesses by granting them their biggest dreams. Guests from all manner of professions united on March 31 to honour the true heroes of the day – the children.

Goody bags containing unique slippers had participants in a friendly frenzy, debating which slippers stood out the most but it did not distract them from the bigger picture.

”Our call to action this year is simple, we ask all South Africans to rally behind us and play their part in being visible agents of change. The foundation’s biggest goal is to have every single South African in slippers on May 6,” said acting CEO of the foundation, Julia Sotirianakos.

Reach for a Dream is working hand in hand with Wimpy, Dis-chem Pharmacies, Pick n Pay, Toyzone and Baby City to raise funds through their support stickers. Each sticker, valued at R20, will ensure that children who are facing tough times hold on to hope. Stickers will be available for purchase on April 4.

Sbu Shongwe, Kim Jayde, Lynn Forbes and Katlego Danke were among the few individuals that came to share their presence with the foundation.

“We are here to support the Reach for a Dream media launch which announced their official Slipper Day, May 6. With Covid-19 being in the picture, it has truly been a tough time for people but we have to think about the children and families going through life and death situations. You can make a child’s dream come true by purchasing a sticker in support of Slipper Day,” concluded Jayde.
