Local community group the Sandton Ladies Circle24 would like to appeal to the community for donations for the Frida Hartley Shelter for abused women and children.

The group would like to appeal to the community for donations for the Frida Hartley Shelter for abused women and children.
In line with its motto, ‘We don’t just give women a safe haven, we give them a future’, the non-profit organisation not only takes in women and their children who have endured neglect, abuse, trauma and homelessness, but they also help empower these women by providing accommodation, psycho-social support, employment and training.
According to Sandton Ladies Circle chairperson Amanda Yelland, the community group supported the shelter last year with its fundraiser during Women’s Month.
“When we visited the shelter to hand over items on their wish list, we saw the impact a donation of everyday goods, such as washing powder, can make to keep the shelter running.”
She added that as a women’s organisation whose motto is friendship and service, the ladies decided to do another donation drive to support this shelter that provides such an important service to the community, a safe haven for abused and homeless women and their children.
“Please help us with donations for toiletries and household products. Every little bit helps and will go a long way to support the day-to-day needs of the shelter,” said Yelland.
Donations can be dropped off at 1 Stone Haven Road, Paulshof, Sandton, 2191. Online orders are also welcome.
