Randburg Police Department Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones thanked her team and local security companies for their hard work.

Hlome Mhongo, who was arrested in October 2021, was recently found guilty of housebreaking and theft. The 26-year-old was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Randburg Police Station officials received complaints of housebreakings around Ferndale late last year and immediately searched for the suspect. According to the spokesperson, Captain Makgowanyana Maja, the culprit was apprehended by police officials and security companies after being found hiding in the garage of one of his victims.

The individual was found guilty on two charges – damage to property and housebreaking and theft.

Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones thanked her team, especially Detective Sergeant Themba Mkhari, and local security companies for all their hard work. Jones encourages all community members to assist them in reporting criminal activities in the area.
