WATCH: One injured in the N1 northbound in tanker explosion near William Nicol
Traffic is severely affected, and motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
Emer-G-Med and multiple emergency services agencies responded to a collision involving a tanker on the N1 near William Nicol on February 17.
“On arrival on scene, the tanker carrying an unconfirmed substance had exploded and was engulfed in flames,” said Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.
“One person was treated for moderate injuries and taken by Emer-G-Med ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
