The 15th annual BRICS summit is fast approaching and residents in the City of Johannesburg have been advised that there will be limited access in and around the Sandton Convention Centre.
The following streets will all be impacted from 08:00 on August 20 to 00:00 on August 24:
- 5th Street – lanes closest to the convention centre will be closed. The lanes furthest away will be open for traffic.
- Alice Lane – lanes closest to the convention centre will be closed. The lanes furthest away will be open for traffic.
- Maude Street – one-way traffic from 5th Street to West Street.
- West Street – lanes closest to the convention centre will be closed. The lanes furthest away will be open for traffic.
The following streets in Midrand will have full to partial road closures starting at 15:00 on August 23 until 00:00 on August 24.
- Gallagher Ave
- Richards Drive
- Johnnic Boulevard
- Lupton Street
- Pretoria Main Rd
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has implemented a no-fly zone over the venue. This includes the usage of drones. This will be in effect from August 22 until August 24.
