Africa Cup kicks off with 40 teams competing for glory in Joburg

The Africa Cup, a highly anticipated tournament held at the start of each year, kicked off on January 26 at one of the Cover Drive Cricket Academy cricket venues in Sandton.

The tournament features 40 teams from various local clubs in Joburg, with players aged between nine and 13 showcasing their skills on the field.

This tournament provides a unique platform for young cricketers to compete for the coveted trophy while enjoying a fun and supportive environment.

It is also an opportunity for schools to scout for talent, with many players receiving scholarship offers as they move into high school cricket.

Sydwell Ndlovu, the organiser of the tournament and founder of Cover Drive Cricket Academy, expressed his excitement for the season ahead.
