Local community children embrace spiritual roots
A camp offering a welcome blend of tradition and fun in Marlboro.
Radhe Shyam Mandir in Marlboro is buzzing with laughter, chanting, and the calm focus of more than 120 children attending a special three-day Spiritual and Wellness Winter Camp.
Organised by Bal Vidya Mandir under the guidance of resident priest Guruji Shree Kirit Bhai Acharya, the retreat aims to nurture children’s minds, bodies, and spirits during the holiday break.
The camp, open to children under 15, blends ancient wisdom with modern wellness tools.

For Guruji Shree Kirit Bhai Acharya, planting these seeds early is key.
“We do not have to wait for children to grow up to teach them spirituality. We must start when they are young, because now we are planting the seeds of goodness.”

He added that these activities help them carry positive energy into their day-to-day lives. Even one hour of meditation can set the tone for a whole day of calmness and focus.
“The camp is an extension of Bal Vidya Mandir’s regular Sunday vernacular classes, which run every weekend during the school term.”
He concluded by stating that the idea for the holiday retreat came from the temple’s dedicated volunteer teams, who wanted to create more time and space for children to build a deeper connection to their cultural roots.
