Potholes on Kew’s 9th Road finally fixed
JRA completes 9th Road repairs in Kew, but drivers say the patchwork job may not last.
Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has completed repairs on a series of potholes along 9th Road in Kew, following earlier reports and community complaints.
The stretch had become increasingly hazardous for motorists, prompting inspections and a commitment from JRA to address the issue, once ongoing work on nearby 10th Road was finished.

While the potholes have now been filled, some drivers and residents say the repairs appear rushed and uneven.

“We are glad the holes are no longer a threat,” said Anele Dube. “Honestly, the surface still feels bumpy, but we are grateful to JRA for fixing the potholes,”
JRA spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers previously acknowledged delays due to limited resources, but emphasised that the agency is working to improve road safety across the city.
