Crawford Schools have been part of South Africa’s educational history for over 20 years with its name signifying the largest single private school organisation in the country.
With campuses spanning nationwide, one of Crawford’s first campuses is based right here in Sandton. Crawford College Sandton was established in 1993, true to its red and white theme and strong Scottish heritage.
“We are a co-educational, multicultural school conveniently situated near the Sandton CBD. Widely acknowledged to have a superb teaching staff, an exceptional extramural programme and consistently top results, the Sandton College is also a very happy, vibrant and exciting campus,” said principal Lotje Smith. From the very beginning, the school has taken pride in its academics, supporting its learners through their journey.
Crawford learners now rank as some of Gauteng’s top-performing learners; many have obtained a full house of distinctions.
The school has repeatedly been awarded the ‘Top Independent School’ by the Gauteng Department of Education.
The school has also been awarded the ‘Top Feeder School’ for the University of the Witswatersrand. But according to Smith, the school is equally proud of its achievements in the cultural, sporting and community service spheres.
“Most importantly, our students graduate as confident individuals with a strong social conscience, well prepared for the demands of the world. Their success at local universities as well as campuses such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown and Oxford indicate that they leave the college with the skills and knowledge to excel at the highest levels,” she concluded.
