Joburg Water vehicle overturns in near collision
BRYANSTON - A Joburg Water service vehicle overturned on Main Road, Bryanston, near Bryanston Drive, following an alleged near collision on the road.

A Joburg Water (JW) representative on the scene, who did not want to be named, said the driver of the vehicle had tried to avoid colliding with another car on the road, before veering off the road and overturning into a trench just off the road.
The incident occurred soon after midday on 16 July.
It appeared the car was a write-off, but according to the JW employee, the driver and passenger had exited the vehicle without injury as they had been wearing their seat belts. He said the men would probably need to be treated for shock.
Motorist Caroline Oxley stopped her car at the site of the accident, concerned about the safety of the occupants of the vehicle and was surprised to hear they had survived the incident. “I pass this way every day,” she said, adding that the traffic on the road was often “hectic” and she wasn’t surprised to see an accident of this nature.
When contacted by the Chronicle shortly after the incident, Joburg Water spokesperson Millicent Kabwe said that Joburg Water was as of yet, unaware of the incident.
