Another high-rise to reshape the skyline
SANDTON - The Alice Lane project is due to be completed by August, a high-quality office development that will become a new defining feature in Sandton's skyline.

Abland, together with Standard Bank and Pivotal Property Investment Fund, will open the doors to phase one of the triple A grade office space in August 2013. Triple A grade is reserved for only the most prestigious buildings with high quality finishes and state of the art systems. The building will be in the prime location for business in Johannesburg, in the heart of Sandton on the corner of Alice Lane and 5th Street, opposite Sandton City shopping centre.
The development has required the demolition of the existing Standard Bank building. The end result will be three new prominent buildings. Phase two and three will be ready for occupation from August 2014 and August 2016 respectively. Tenants will have access to 70 000m² of retail and office rental space. An extensive basement parking structure will ensure that all tenants and visitors have sufficient secure parking. The development will also feature a central ‘street-scaped’ piazza between the three phases. This square will be pedestrian-friendly and will contain a naturally green environment; a first for Sandton office offerings.
The piazza will be home to convenience service related retailers, including Standard Bank, restaurants, coffee shops, hairdressers, dry cleaners and food outlets. A premier gym, which will be easily accessible from the piazza level at phase one, will also provide convenience for those who want to work out after work without having to travel far.
