Financial consultants robbed by gang

STRATHAVON - Staff members from a financial consultancy firm were robbed by four armed men while transporting cash through Strathavon.

Bramley police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, said the victims were driving to a bank in Sandton. They stopped at the corner of Katherine Street and Marlboro Drive at a traffic light. They were approached by four men, all armed. One of the men forcibly opened the driver’s door and pointed a firearm at the driver, while another opened the passenger door and took a bag from behind the seat. The suspects then got into a white Audi A4 and drove off.

The victims did not know how much cash was in the bag. A call to their office revealed that it had contained R47 000.

No arrests have yet been made.
