Shed a tear to bring hope
THERE are many ways to support Sandton's Tears (Transform Education About Rape and Sexual Abuse) Foundation, in Chiselhurston.

Artist Kyle Benedek, a student at Inscape Design College in Rosebank, painted a teardrop in support of the organisation. Benedek, an artist with a passion for painting realistic eyes, named his painting An Eye With Tears.
He said on hearing about the organisation and its aims, he decided to produce the painting with the view of helping Tears staff to raise funds to help create awareness of rape and sexual abuse.
“He is a shining example of a young, vibrant and talented young artist. We are sure Kyle will go far,” said Tears founder Mara Glennie.
She said abuse was rife in South Africa and there was regrettably limited information available to help raise victims awareness of where they can go and what they can do to get authentic help. “Victims also lack an awareness of how the judicial system operates and their fundamental rights,” she said.
Tears appealed to all local artists to stand up by donating artwork to the organisation to help create awareness of rape and sexual abuse.
