An evening of laughter
BRYANSTON - The 4th Dimension Toastmasters, a Bryanston toastmaster club that helps develop public speaking and leadership skills, is holding its annual humorous and impromptu club contest.

Every winter, club members chase away those pesky winter blues with much needed laughter through their prepared humorous and unrehearsed speeches that has become a yearly tradition.
“The contest is a great platform for club members to showcase their funny side and is one of the few times members compete against one another,” said 4th Dimension public relations officer Lydia Strehlau. “The impromptu speeches are also a highlight of the evening as club members are forced to think on their feet with often hilarious results.”
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the event in what has proven to be an annual fun-filled evening. Entrance is free, however a nominal fee of R20 covers drinks and snacks for the evening.
The audience can expect an entertaining evening where the laughs keep on rolling. It’s also a chance to interact with club members and find out more about toastmasters, and how it improves and develops overall public speaking skills as well as boosts confidence.
The winner of the club contest will go on to represent 4th Dimension at the area contest. The ultimate winner will go on to represent Southern Africa in the International Humorous and Impromptu Contest to be held in the Unites States.
The local contest will be held on 2 September at the Neil Armstrong Room in Wanderers Building, Dimension Data Campus at 5.45pm for 6.15pm.
