JPC extends deadline for public art competition

BRAAMFONTEIN – Johannesburg Property Company encourages residents to submit designs for totems for a public art competition and extends the competition's deadline.

The Johannesburg Property Company has announced an extension of the deadline for its public art competition.

The new deadline is 17 June and allows residents living in Johannesburg to submit their unique designs of totems set to be featured in the new council chamber of Johannesburg’s new Metro centre, once it has been opened.

The entity will then select, from the entries received, one totem for each of the 134 wards across the city and these will be included as permanent fixtures in the chamber.

Each of the winning designers will also walk away with R5 000 in prize money.

Interested residents can print out the online entry form, complete it and submit it together with their design at their local ward office or the entity’s offices, located on the first floor of the Forum 2, Braam Park in Braamfontein.

The centre is currently under construction in Braamfontein and is expected to be completed at the end of September.
