Vaal Dam drops below 50 per cent

JOBURG – The levels are set to continue to drop even further due to the persist hot temperatures and lack of rain.

The Gauteng Weather forecaster has confirmed that for the first time in three years the water level of the Vaal Dam has dropped below 50 per cent.

On their Twitter page, they confirmed that the dam levels are sitting at 49.64 per cent and expected to drop even more due to the persistent hot temperatures in the province and lack of rainfall.

Residents should be reminded that level one water restrictions are still in place and to use water sparingly.
